Press coverage

The setiQuest Explorer private beta launch on March 10 2011 generated a lot of press. CNET, CBS News, Time.com blog ... It is an amazing amount of coverage for a beta launch. I noticed a large increase in the setiQuest forum traffic (currently active users) that day. Let's see how many stick around and join the setiQuest community. An interesting comparison, this is more press coverage than baudline has received in the past 10+ years of active development combined. It shows how important it is to have the right product at the right time and how important it is who you know. Learn from this. SigBlips 09:06, 11 March 2011 (PST)

Network bandwidth

I used the "netstat -s" Unix command to measure that setiQuest Explorer downloads about 20 MB of Waterfall plot data per assignment. Mobile 3G users need to be mindful of their data caps. Data appears to be loaded from left to right as a quick scroll on a new assignment will stall until the complete download is complete. SigBlips 10:09, 14 March 2011 (PDT)
